Read last year's True, Personal Stories About the Willamette
River or a tributary
and our selection of Poems, Fiction,
and Tattle Tales.
Leading up to the 2011 Tcha Tee Man Wi Storytelling Festival, we again invite the community to share personal, true stories – this year on the theme of “Our Trees, Our Forests.”
Do you have a favorite local/regional tree? One that you dislike? Have you planted, nurtured, climbed, and/or cut one down? Can you tell a story about how local trees, or their wood or fruit, have warmed/sheltered/fed/been important to you? Is there a grove that you enjoy? Have you had trysts under a special tree? Been lost in the woods? Had an experience of not seeing the forest for the trees?
Please tell us your brief anecdotes. Limit: 250-300 words. Include permission for your story, with your name, to be posted on the Tcha Tee Man Wi Storytelling Festival website. We will not publish your contact information, but we do need an email or phone number in case we have questions. The stories on the website will be moderated and will only include family-friendly material.
Send the story - told simply, as one would tell a friend - to this e-mail address: tchateemanwi@gmail.com
