STORIES WITH SPIRIT:
Speaking Your Story of Cancer
Regi Carpenter

When cancer touches your world, everything changes. The plans and path you were on is new. You may find yourself wondering who am I, what is the meaning of my life, and what happened to me?

In this two hour workshop we will explore creatively how to make sense of your personal experience with cancer, how it has affected you, and where you are now. We will create, share, and listen to the stories of our experience while connecting to the stories of others. Sharing stories provides healing to the spirit of all involved. All materials will be provided.
Everyone is welcome.

Cost: Free, Light meal provided

BODY NARRATIVE
Making Your Body Speak
Anne Penfound

Have you ever broken a leg,
bumped your nose, or stubbed your toes?
Has someone ever caught your eye,
have you ever tried to fly?
Do you like to jump or run
or catch a snowflake on your tongue?

Tell us about it in this interactive workshop. Make your body speak. Start with the bones of your story, attach the muscles, fill the blood vessels, protect with skin. Work on gestures, pauses and voice variation as you bring your body narrative to life.

MINING YOUR LIFE FOR STORIES
Joel ben Izzy

Each of us is a treasure trove of untold stories - the trick is to find them. In this workshop Joel will guide us through techniques he's developed to help us
discover, craft, and tell some of the stories that lie just below the surfaces of our lives.

Although this is a highly participatory workshop, there will not be pressure to "perform." Rather, the emphasis will be on telling stories in small groups that we can take home and share with friends and family.
As we say in the world of storytelling,
"Hear today, tell tomorrow."

MOMENT, MEMORIES, and MEMOIRS

Regi Carpenter

When does a memory become a story?
What is the difference between a story and a conversation? When we apply storytelling craft to the moments of our lives, we give our lives personal and universal meaning. This workshop focuses on crafting a personal tale into memoirs that express our lives, our ancestors and the common themes of existence.
